LAURIE
SCOTT PRESSURES MCGUINTY GOVERNMENT TO
PUT THE FROST CENTRE SIGN BACK UP
The Liberal government has removed the Frost Centre sign that had
been located in front of the building.
Today
in the Ontario Legislature, Laurie Scott, Haliburton-Victoria-Brock
MPP, asked Management Board Chair Gerry Phillips to put the sign
back up.
“What
sort of signal are you sending to the working group,” asked
Laurie Scott. “What sort of signal are you sending to the
people who have been trying to keep the Frost Centre programs alive.
Minister will you keep your word, will you put the sign back up.”
The
Minister indicated that he would have the sign put back up.
When
Laurie Scott asked him when the sign would be put back up, the Minister
indicated that the sign would be put back up “by the weekend”.
He went on to say “I’ll even bring up my hammer if need
be.”
“This
is tremendous news. When I heard the sign had been removed, I was
worried that the government might be moving away from their support
of the working group,” Laurie Scott said. “We need to
persist in our efforts until we find a solution that will allow
us to save the Frost Centre. I will continue to watch to make sure
that the government supports the efforts of the working group.”
