MPP SCOTT STRESSES SAFETY AS SCHOOL RETURNS
Reminds all Drivers to be mindful of children

(Lindsay, ON)  The Tuesday after Labour Day will see thousands of children and young adults returning to their schools following their summer break. MPP Laurie Scott (Haliburton-Victoria-Brock) is reminding motorists to be alert, be safe, and watch for school buses as well children cycling or walking.

“We all need to remind ourselves that many children will be making their way to and from their schools,” said Scott. “Those of us driving automobiles or motorcycles need to be alert at all times and use extra caution, especially when approaching school crossings and near school zones.”

“As of Tuesday school buses will once again be travelling on our area roads.  It is important that all of us in our vehicles pay close attention when meeting or following a school bus, especially when its red lights are flashing.”

“The protection and safety of children on our roadways is a responsibility we all share,” added Scott.
