MPP Scott Congratulates Great Lakes RV
Manufacturing facility to open in former Fleetwood plant

(City of Kawartha Lakes, ON)  Member of Provincial Parliament Laurie Scott (Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock) today announced her congratulations to Great Lakes RV, which plans to begin operations early in 2008 at the former Fleetwood Manufacturing plant.

 “As the MPP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock, I am thrilled to extend congratulations to Great Lakes RV for their profound commitment to our community,” said Scott.  “Their dedication is essential in continuing to create opportunities for employment, boost our local economy and build our potential.” 

When Fleetwood announced its closure back in May of this year, Scott immediately contacted the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade and the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities to search for assistance and options for the employees affected by the closure. 

“Manufacturing jobs are a valuable contribution to the economic development of our area,” said Scott.  “I’m proud of our efforts, along with Great Lakes RV management and its employees, who are working hard to provide that much-needed boost.” 

“With Christmas upon us I feel the timing of this news couldn’t be better and is a great gift for our community,” added Scott.
