MPP SCOTT HOSTS ANNUAL NEW YEAR’S LEVEE
(City of Kawartha Lakes, ON) Member of Provincial Parliament Laurie Scott (Haliburton – Kawartha Lakes – Brock) hosted her annual New Year Levee at the Lindsay Inn on Sunday, January 6th.
Scott was pleased to be joined by John Tory, Leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party and both were available to speak on a variety of topics with the numerous Constituents in attendance.
“Having Mr. Tory here provided the opportunity for residents to discuss some of their goals, concerns and opinions on making Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock the best it can be,” said Scott.
Scott also took the time to bring forward some of the goals she has for the riding in the coming year.
“We really need to work together at all levels of government to address some of our major issues such as doctor shortages and creating opportunities for our young people,” said Scott. “Our riding has a number of hardworking and dedicated organizations that focus on health care, economic development, retail sectors, agriculture, and education. They need our support at all levels.”
“Our communities have a great opportunity to get things done and I feel so optimistic about the positive things we can do.”
Mr. Tory acknowledged the wonderful level of support Ms. Scott has in her riding and thanked her again for her hard work, both in the riding and at Queen’s Park, on behalf of her constituents.
