LAURIE SCOTT PLEASED TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANNOUCEMENT
OF PERMANENT DIALYSIS UNIT AT ROSS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
(Lindsay, Ontario) Laurie Scott, MPP for Haliburton-Victoria-Brock
was very pleased to acknowledge the tremendous efforts by the community
as well as representatives from Lindsay’s Ross Memorial Hospital
who have been rewarded with an announcement today of a permanent
15-bed dialysis program.
“This is great news for our community and for those who have
been pressing for permanent dialysis services at Ross Memorial,”
said Scott. “We know that both our community and Ross Memorial
Hospital have a very strong capacity to support this important program.”
The Peterborough Regional Health Program, which operates the regional
dialysis center, has been working at capacity for a number of years
and Ross Memorial Hospital has recently been providing a number
of patients with temporary dialysis services.
Scott has been pressing the Minister and has forwarded her strong
support of a permanent unit at Ross Memorial Hospital, on behalf
of the representatives from the community.
“This will certainly help alleviate the strain on Peterborough
Regional Health, as well as reduce some of the burden to patients
and families by providing much-needed dialysis services closer to
home.”
“I want to thank the local members for their persistence
in obtaining this unit for our community,” added Scott. “Although
I wish the Minister would have listened to us sooner I am very pleased
that our residents will be receiving this service locally.”
