LAURIE SCOTT RECOGNIZES SENIORS’
CONTRIBUTIONS
Announces Dates for Seniors’ Seminars
(Lindsay, Ontario) June is recognized as Seniors’ Month
in the province of Ontario. Laurie Scott, MPP (Haliburton-Victoria-Brock)
was pleased today to acknowledge the contributions of the over 1.5
million seniors in Ontario to communities throughout the province.
“Seniors Month provides an excellent opportunity to recognize
seniors in our province and the contributions they have made to
both Ontario and Canada,” said Scott. “It is only fitting
that their commitment, past and present, be acknowledged.”
Seniors account for approximately 13 per cent of Ontario’s
population. Seniors’ Month events include award ceremonies,
recognition events, socials and seniors’ information fairs.
Scott is teaming up with Federal Member of Parliament, Barry Devolin
(Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock) to co-host three seminars dedicated
to seniors. The information dates and locations of those seminars
are listed below:
Tuesday, June 26 – Lindsay Royal Canadian Legion
Thursday, June 28 – Beaverton Royal Canadian Legion
Friday, June 29 – Haliburton Royal Canadian Legion
Registration and Exhibit Viewing begins at 8:30 AM.
Seminars begin at 9:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 Noon
Complimentary Lunch will be served.

United Seniors Citizens of Ontario Inc., and the Older Persons Mental
Health and Addiction Network.
