IMMEDIATE RELEASE MPP Assists Council in Obtaining Meeting (Queen’s Park) – Laurie Scott, MPP for Haliburton-Victoria Brock, in a statement in the Legislature today requested, on behalf of the Kawartha Lakes City Council, that the Minister of Municipal Affairs meet with the Mayor and council to discuss the outcome of the November 10th non-binding referendum. The Minister, in response to the statement, informed the Legislature that he would meet with both the Mayor and council in his offices in Toronto. “I was happy to ask this important question in the Legislature and I am glad the Minister has agreed to meet with the Mayor and all of council,” Ms. Scott said. “I hope that real progress can be made on a plan that moves this issue forward on behalf of the people of my riding.”
