IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ms. Scott Disappointed in Minister’s Meeting Cancellation (Queen’s Park) – Laurie Scott, MPP for Haliburton-Victoria-Brock was disappointed today to learn that the Minister of Municipal Affairs has abruptly cancelled his meeting with the Mayor and Council of the City of Kawartha Lakes which was to be held in Toronto on January 14th. “I understand that no reason was given for the cancellation and it is unfortunate that the Minister has done this.” Laurie said. On December 18th Ms. Scott had asked, in a statement in the Legislature, that Minister Gerretsen meet with the Mayor and Council in Lindsay. The Minister responded that he intended to meet with them but the meeting was to be in Toronto. “I know that the Mayor and Council are anxious to move forward on this important issue and it is disappointing to me that the Minister has chosen to delay,” said Laurie. “I hope while he is reconsidering the time of the meeting he also reconsiders the location.”
