‘Don’t Delist Health Care Services’
Laurie Scott asks the Minister of Health and Long-Term
Care to reconsider the delisting of chiropractic, optometry and
physiotherapy services
(Queen’s Park) - Today, Laurie Scott stood up for the residents
of Haliburton-Victoria-Brock, demanding that the Minister of Health
and Long-Term Care re-instate OHIP coverage for delisted health
care services.
“This is a serious concern across the
riding. I have heard quite clearly from local residents about how
important these services are,” said Laurie Scott. My job as
MPP is to make sure that the government knows about the concerns
of my constituents.”
In her question to the Minister today, Laurie
Scott asked him to change his mind about the delisting of chiropractic,
optometry and physiotherapy services. This is very important to
the many people who are self-employed and on fixed incomes who don’t
have access to benefit plans that would cover the costs of these
services.
“I was disappointed that the Minister
chose to ignore the very clear message that his government is being
sent by people all across the province” said Laurie. “I
will continue to press the government to reinstate these services.
Right now, users of these services are spending more money on their
healthcare through new health care premiums and receiving less service.”
