Laurie Scott Welcomes new Progressive Conservative Leader
(Lindsay) Today Laurie Scott, MPP for Haliburton-Victoria-Brock
expressed her confidence in the new leader of the Ontario Progressive
Conservative Party. “I believe that John Tory is the leader
that our party needs to help us to defeat Dalton McGuinty in 2007,
said Laurie Scott. “He understands the issues that communities
across Ontario are facing and I was proud to support his candidacy.”
There
was a good turnout of voters, both from across the province, and
in Haliburton-Victoria-Brock. John Tory won the leadership on the
second ballot late in the day on Saturday. “I have been speaking
with other members of our caucus, both those who supported John,
and those who had supported other candidates,” said Laurie.
“Everyone I have talked to has been eager to pull together
so that we can win the election in 2007.”
