SCOTT SWORN IN FOR SECOND TERM AS MPP

(Queen’s Park, Toronto) –On Monday morning in the Ontario Legislature, surrounded by supporters from the riding, Laurie Scott was sworn in as MPP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes Brock, for the thirty-ninth parliament.

“I am truly honoured and privileged to once again represent the people of this great riding,” said Scott. “I will continue to put my hard work and leadership into action to ensure that the concerns and needs of Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock are heard in the Ontario Legislature.”

Scott was first elected to the Ontario Legislature in 2003, and has served as Opposition Critic for the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities as well as Opposition Critic for the Ministry of the Environment.  Scott was re-elected on October 10th.

Section 128 of the Constitution Act, 1867, requires that every member of the Legislative Assembly take the Oath of Allegiance before taking her or his seat in the Legislative Chamber.  The Oath is administered by the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, Ms. Deborah Deller.

“I want to thank the people of Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock for showing confidence in me and for their support as their Member of Provincial Parliament,” added Scott.
