Emergency Sitting Sees Two Critical Pieces of Legislation Receive Unanimous ConsentPublished on March 19, 2020
Like you, I believe that mothers, fathers, daughters and sons should be able to care for their loved ones with confidence that their job is secure during the COVID-19 outbreak.
We should also have faith that our grocery stores will be fully stocked, eliminating the panic buying and hoarding of goods in our community.
This afternoon, my colleagues of the legislature put partisanship aside and with all-party support passed two critical pieces of legislation that will protect workers, feed families and empower our municipal partner to continue their hard work.
It is important that we continue to look after one another in this time of emergency. No one should lose their job while putting their health and well-being first and no one should go hungry or without resources during this unprecedented outbreak.
With Premier Doug Ford and Minister Christine Elliott’s strong leadership, and the continued kindness and selflessness of our community together Ontario will come out of this crisis.
